The survey is now closed.
This winter, we introduced new approaches and made some changes to our snow maintenance practices in an effort to continuously improve our response to snow events. While we recognize there is still progress that can be made, we want you to know that we’re committed to being innovative and trying new methods to enhance our operations. With this in mind, we'd like you to reflect on our snow maintenance and removal services this winter and let us know how we did.
By sharing your experiences and suggestions, you’ll help us review our practices and adjust our response for next season—where feasible—based on budget, personnel and equipment availability.
Everyone who participates will be entered into a draw to win a Stanley® thermos (survey answers will not be linked to personal information).
How snow maintenance works in Lethbridge County
Snow maintenance in rural municipalities like Lethbridge County poses unique challenges compared to urban areas. With over 2,000 km of roads across a large area, our crews must work within budget, staffing and equipment constraints while responding as quickly as possible after each snowfall.
We prioritize main roads and high-traffic routes first—especially those critical for emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire trucks, and law enforcement —to help maintain public safety, as well as school bus routes. As a result, less-traveled roads may be cleared later.
Numbered highways (i.e., HWY 3, HWY 519) are maintained by the province, not the County.
